Heroes and Graces
The concepts of grace and heroism offer contrasting yet complementary lenses through which to understand human experience, particularly in the context of existential struggles and the duality of life.
While heroism often involves an active, willful striving to transcend mortality or assert significance, grace implies a state of acceptance, surrender, or unearned favor that transcends human effort.
These works are meditations on the meanings of grace and heroism, their philosophical and psychological underpinnings and their relationship to life’s dualities.
